RDBX Times Square

DESIGN

The signing focused messaging and visuals to show the public that Redbox has a streaming platform beyond the discs at the Kiosk. This was the largest audience the brand had to communicate the streaming message, so the plan was to keep the copy bold and straight-to-the-point. The imagery featured the Redbox TV App showing the linear TV streaming platform, while also keeping the logo prominent.

The various supporting marketing pieces that were featured on the Redbox platforms were designed to work with the creative used in Times Square. My work did not just end at the computer – my role was heavily involved from the ground up with each of these stores. I was involved in material selections, graphic applications, fixture signing, photography selection and retouching direction.

On October 25, 2021, rang the opening bell at Nasdaq to celebrate the company going public. Redbox officially became listed as RDBX on Nasdaq. As part of the ceremony, I was asked to design digital signage for the Nasdaq and Reuters buildings in Times Square.

The windows within the Nasdaq digital display were the inspiration to create a "Plinko" game with the Redbox icon. This worked perfectly with the playful style of the Redbox brand.

The Reuters Building across the street was also included in the digital signing marketing for the bell ringing ceremony. Front-and-center the linear live TV platform was shown with supporting headlines focused on streaming to bring awareness beyond the Kiosk.
